Course Objectives
This course will focus on assessing trauma cases with ultrasound and encompass:
- Standardized "extension" of the physical exam for rapid diagnosis of life threatening abdominal and thoracic conditions
- Detection of free abdominal fluid, pleural and pericardial effusion, and free air
- Post-interventional, post-surgical, and critical care monitoring
- Clinical utility of Abdominal Fluid Scoring System as a means to monitor anemia, homorrhage, and worsening or resolution of abdominal effusion conditions
Who should attend
- This course is designed for veterinarians and technicians who wish to learn how to quickly assess a trauma case with ultrasound.
- Recommended prerequisites are the Basic and Soft Tissue courses.
- Taught by a board certified criticalist.
