Echocardiography in Congenital Heart Disease

Course Objectives

  • Recognizing the common congenital heart diseases
  • Use of Doppler techniques to assess severity and hemodynamic significance
  • How to integrate the physical, radiography, and electrocardiography in the characterization of these conditions
  • Role of saline contrast in evaluation of right to left shunting
  • Therapeutic options for select congenital malformations, as well as indications and limitations for these interventions

Who should attend

  • Veterinarians and technicians who have completed the DVM Imaging Program, Advanced Echocardiography Doppler & Hemodynamics class, or the Veterinary Technician Imaging Program and wish to continue the Sound-Eklin education series to enhance their knowledge of echocardiography to a higher level.
  • Lecture only. Taught by a board certified Cardiologist and June Boon.
